What's inside the ZerryBit, from the e-ink panel to the battery.

ZerryBit is a battery-powered e-ink display built around a low-power Wi-Fi microcontroller. It is designed to sit on a shelf or hang on a wall for months on a single charge, quietly updating itself.

No microphone, no camera, no speaker.

Care and operating conditions

  • Indoor use. The enclosure is not weather-sealed.
  • Temperature matters to e-ink: the display is happiest at normal room temperatures. In cold rooms (below ~5 °C) refreshes become slower and fainter. That is the ink physics, not a fault.
  • Cleaning: wipe the screen with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. No solvents.
  • Storage: if you put the device away for a long time, charge it to about half first and power it off from Settings. Lithium batteries age fastest when stored full or empty.
  • Sunlight: e-ink is perfectly readable in direct sun, but like paper, years of direct UV will slowly age the panel. A spot out of constant direct sunlight is kindest.
